lost my emails in the inbox of my maoin account

I don't know what happened but I lost suddenly some of the most recent emails in the inbox of my main account and the other mais are unreadable it seems like the subjects are right but he contents of one mail have been mixed with the content of previous or next mail. What can I do to get my mails back thanks

I other folders everything is all right.

You could try to compact your folders (from File menu). Or go into the profile and delete inbox.msf
Thunderbird will recreate this file on startup.

Thanks but I tried both and nothing worked it is strange because I have been using thunderbird everyday since months and such a thing never happened to me. I recently installed the offline support extension and I wonder if it wouldn't be a problem due to this extension?
And I am worrying about my lost emails some being important.
All helpful advice welcome

sorry I erased the inbox.msf in the wrong folder. Now I did it and I only get some of the disappeared messages and some that were here have disappeared. Thanks anyway for your advice. I will get manually my emails in the inbox file
