If you are not using the same backup software as tapestry, you have a different problem. Please start a new topic. These issues can get quite involved and helping more than one person in a topic just confuses everyone. Thanks.

I'm running Thunderbird on an iMac now, and I don't have the trash folder problem. I'm not suggesting that you buy a new computer, but I thought it was interesting that the problem is apparently in the code written for PCs.

I found a couple of hidden folders under the Trash folder--look for a Trash folder in the folder that has the other mailbox folders
