Is there some documentation somewhere? Or simply, how do I use them? I have them enabled but don't really see anything different happening?

this is a little howto.
there are not all features enabled yet. oh, and if you use a different theme than modern or classic, you might have problems, because not all themes come with the new spam/not spam icons (yet :)).

Well, if you use Linux (or anything that could use Bash and zip/unzip command line tools), you can try this shell script to add spam/not spam icons to any theme: http://www.mozillazine.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1234
(I used it on Lopburi and Breeze, haven't tested in other themes yet but it should work.)
