now that all the address books appear initially as one list can it be exported as one list? and can the their labels indicating their book like personal and collected be indicated?

No. There is no change in the way Thunderbird stores address data. Each address book is still a separate file which would have to be exported separately. Only the display has been changed. Try to export with the "All Addressbooks" entry at the top of the left hand address book pane results in only the column titles being exported.

thanks, I tried that :-). can this be moved to suggestions, and future consideration?

It can, as long as you realize that we here are not Mozilla. Any suggestions/requests made here may or may not ever be seen by those in a position to act on them.
