"downloadable font: download failed" seamonkey 2.46

Post by crassius »

I'm seeing this error at a lot of places and getting no font icons - did I miss a setting somewhere?

example:

Timestamp: 4/27/2017 4:47:13 PM
Error: downloadable font: download failed (font-family: "Fira Sans" style:normal weight:normal stretch:normal src index:2): status=2152398850 source: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/skins/cont ... gular.woff
Source File: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/data/asset ... 1493128900
Line: 24, Column: 11
Source Code:
@font-face { font-family: "Fira Sans"; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; src: local("Fira Sans"), local("FiraSans"), url("../../skins/contrib/Mozilla/fira/FiraSans-Regular.woff") format("woff"); }

What extensions do you have installed?

I have adnauseum and noscript that might cause it. I have others that shouldn't make a difference, but don't seem to show as pastable text on addons page. I tried to save it as text and to edit it to copy out all the names, but names of addons don't show up.

Spent quite a bit of time on this, and at this point, I'd be happy just to find a way to d'l the fonts and store them locally myself.

It's NoScript. If the missing fonts is really a problem for you, you can disable the font blocking by going to NoScript Options > Embeddings, and un-check "Forbid @font-face".

BTW you can get a copy-able list of extensions from about:support

That is already unchecked, and mozilla.org is certainly not an untrusted site.

I recall that recently I set "network.IDN_show_punycode;true" to prevent URL spoofing, could that be it?

here is a list of all addons, note the last 2 are disabled:

ADB Helper 0.10.0
AdNauseam 3.0.4
ChatZilla 0.9.92
DOM Inspector 2.0.16
Download YouTube Videos as MP4 1.8.7
DownThemAll! 2.0.18
Image Zoom 0.6.3.1-signed
NoScript 2.9.5.2
User Agent Switcher 0.7.3
Valence 0.3.7
YouTube Flash Video Player 44.1
JavaScript Debugger 0.9.89.1-signed false
Stylish 2.0.2 false

I've had that setting like that for years and it's never interfered with webfonts.

Maybe worth checking whether this is indeed caused by an extension. Does the problem persist in Safe Mode?

off-topic: JavaScript Debugger is long dead and incompatible with recent SeaMonkey versions. You might as well just uninstall it.

Does not occur in a new Profile.

Appears to be NoScript related.
Only happens if mozilla.org is not Allowed.
You'll find FONT@https://bugzilla.mozilla.org in the Blocked Objects list.
Fire 750, bring back 250.

thanks folks, found it by safe mode followed by addon activation one at a time

AdNauseam was doing it, and can be fixed by whitelisting sites that have web fonts, guess I have a lot of sites to add.
