SSL detection bug?

Post by Justinh »

Hi,
My site has a TLS cert and the entire site is "SSL". Browsers show the green padlock on all pages, except one.
Only Fx complains that this one page is not secure:
https://berean-biblechurch.org/rss/
It doesn't show the padlock and says the "Connection Is Note Secure".

Image

Chrome, Edge, and IE(!) all show secure w/o issues.

So, this appears to be a bug with Fx. Can someone confirm or else explain why Fx doesn't like it?

Thanks,
Justin

No problem with the site using Firefox 61.0.1. You posted using SeaMonkey 2.49.3 so what version of Firefox were you using when you found the problem?

I never mentioned SM. I'm using Fx 61.0.1.

Yes, I know the page renders, if that is what you all mean by 'no problem'. The issue is with the cert. If you observe, there is not a green padlock on that page.

I'll see if I can figure out how to upload a picture.

The screenshot, as posted, is not from SeaMonkey.
(There, now that we're past that...)

And in FF 61, & as shown above, states, the "Connection is Not Secure".
(With it further saying, "The website ... does not support encryption for the page you are viewing." - whatever that means [& in this case, has nothing to do with "antivirus"].)

Bug 1172234 HTTPS atom feeds pages are not displayed with certificate and padlock
This is because the content is loaded in a page called about:feeds, and that's what the identity popup uses to make decisions. It no longer has access to the security info of the original https channel, and so it can't tell us anything about the cert or otherwise.

(Before I found the bug, I was going to say, "it seems all rss feed pages show up as 'not secure'.)
Fire 750, bring back 250.
