Can anyone speculate why this site loads in another browser but won't with SeaMonkey

Re: linkedin not displaying
Sorry, I must be missing something. How does an inability to launch linkedin with SM relate to the thread about accessing Yahoo email?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: linkedin not displaying
I think it just has to do with web developers only coding for Chrome. LinkedIn might be just be another one of the growing exclusionary corporations. You could try experimenting with different User Agents settings.
The only way I can get anything to show up in SeaMonkey from LinkedIn is to go to https://www.linked.in/feed Everything else just gives me a blank page.

Disable Firefox advertising. For good. Firefox 60.x is recognized as very badly obsolete.davidb_sk wrote:The only way I can get anything to show up in SeaMonkey from LinkedIn is to go to https://www.linked.in/feed Everything else just gives me a blank page.
Make site specific override for LinkedIn with UA for Firefox 78 (latest ESR version). It works for me.

What user agent override worked for you with linkedin?
Thanks again.

The same I gave you last time:Peter Creasey wrote:What user agent override worked for you with linkedin?

Don't think that different User Agent will cause "magic" to SeaMonkey and will give new functions. It will not. Spoofing UA is for website. To make them "think" you are using newer browser they (must) support. In most cases it will work. Unfortunately, lazy "webmasters" sometimes are preparing website to work with (latest) Chrome only. Mozilla is trying to make Firefox fit to Chrome functionality but they have resources to do so.

Re: linkedin not displaying
Yes, I already have general.useragent.override.yimg.com which generates the string you cite. Linkedin isn't working for me.
I thought you said you entered a linked-in specific override, but I guess I misinterpreted what you meant.
I also have general.useragent.yahoo.com stipulated. Does that matter?

Re: linkedin not displaying
Sigh... Like I wrote in that other topic, site specific override is per domain. If website is using more than on domain then you must set more than one override.Peter Creasey wrote:Yes, I already have general.useragent.override.yimg.com which generates the string you cite. Looks like LinkedIn is using two domain: "linkedin.com" and "licdn.com". You must set two new overrides for this two domains.
Every website that will not work requires override with their domains. You did it for Yahoo so it will work for Yahoo. Not for e.g. LinkedIn.
If this is problem for you then you can set general override (see "that other" topic).

Re: linkedin not displaying
Okay, I've tried everything you say.
I currently have...
general.useragent.override.yimg.com
general.useragent.yahoo.com
general.useragent.linkedin.com
general.useragent.licdn.com
Linkedin partially launches.
When I add general.useragent.com linkedin won't even open.
[EDITED TO ADD] When I removed general.useragent.com then linked would at least show what is apparently the front page.

Re: linkedin not displaying
I have no issue opening linkedin, com. It opens just fine. Even the link you posted opens just fine for me. I have not set any useragent overrides either. Using seamonkey 2.53.7.1 as well. I am not using any plugins and just a couple of extensions ( adblock plus ( yeah, I know it is outdated ), https everywhere, and an old saved password editor ). I haven't changed any settings as far as the advertise as firefox compatible either.

Ha! You know, what.... I went and told SeaMonkey to not block the parts of the LinkedIn that were suspected of tracking my activity and then I could see the page contents as well.soltasword wrote:I have no issue opening linkedin, com. Re: linkedin not displaying
Did you type it from hand or was it copy/paste? If it is just mistype then OK but if you really have skipped "override" part in preference's name then it will not work.Peter Creasey wrote:I currently have...

Re: linkedin not displaying
Yes, I mistyped in my reply to you. About:config has "override" inserted in all of them.

Re: linkedin not displaying
I removed all the overrides and still the linkedin address won't launch a display...just blank page.
Any other suggestions?
