I am in the process of moving to a new machine. Both this machine and my old one are running SM 2.53.10
I read a current thread (http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... &t=3083054) and realized that my loss of access to all the emails I moved to "Local Mail" folders under SM 1.x may have coincided with my move to SM 2.x; I may have failed to execute the steps in the proper order. I can still see the emails on my System Disk under -Users/MyName when I view one of several Mozilla profile folders.
I don't want to make a similar mistake.
I have been unable to download PDF files attached to emails for a few weeks.
I don't want to import this problem to my new machine. I would like access to saved emails I have.
What approach should I use in making the move between machines.
thanks

Re: Migrating Mail Component - Flawed Win7 to Win10
The thread you quoted above seems to provide a valid transfer path. Since you will only be copying data from the old system, have you considered just giving it a try to see if any issues show up on the new system? You would always be able to go back and try a different process if the first method doesn't work out.
How is your email current set up in SeaMonkey, as a POP or IMAP type account?
