Seamonkey not accepted by many sites
Hey girls and boys,
I don't know why many internet sites don't accept more visits from my browser Seamonkey.
How can i resolve it?
I.E. I use the site http://www.mail.com, but i can't access it with Seamonkey.
The site says: Your browser is not supported.
With Firefox it is possible.
Thanks for your help.

No problems with that website while using SM 2.53.15 beta.
Btw, you can download it from: http://www.wg9s.com/comm-253/

If the jpeg image is somewhere online, then copy and paste it into SeaMonkey Composer.

That is a lot different from what you wrote earlier -Joeblef wrote:Note: I can reach the site http://www.mail.com, but when I try to open my e-mails it say "Your browser is not supported.
You'll have to hope that someone else has an account for that website and can help you, otherwise you're on your own. Good luck.Joeblef wrote:I.E. I use the site http://www.mail.com, but i can't access it with Seamonkey.

Re: Seamonkey not accepted by many sites
Joeblef,
Because SeaMonkey is not a popular browser many web sites will simply just not recognize it and allow it to work. Essentially and realistically there is not much that SeaMonkey can do to force web sites to recognize SeaMonkey. In those cases the basic procedure is to try to "spoof" your user agent string in order to possibly trick the web site into allowing SeaMonkey to work. But efforts to spoof are mostly strictly trial and error on the users' part with no guarantees.
Frank Lion supplied you with a possible spoof: " Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/68.0 SeaMonkey/2.53.12 ". Did you try that?
Beyond attempts at spoofing the simplest thing may be to simply use another browser for that particular web site. That could save you a lot of time and headache. Along those lines you might also want to try the "Open with" extension. (See my post "Posted June 24th, 2022, 8:28 pm" at " http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... &start=195 ", for directions on installing and using the appropriate "Open with" extension.)

Re: Seamonkey not accepted by many sites
I just tried both of the user strings above. Portions of the mail.com site display, but nothing works. None of the menu dropdowns work and no login box appears.
ProtonMail doesn't work with either.

For you it wouldn't, as previously mentioned -Wish You Were Here wrote:ProtonMail doesn't work with either.

Final thought - You adding the fact that you are using an old 2.49.x version of SeaMonkey to every post you make complaining about websites, would certainly save the time of everyone around here.

Re: Seamonkey not accepted by many sites
Currently on version 2.53.13 Portable and still having the same problems with many sites. Protonmail works here, but Mastercard Identity Portal does not. It appears until you log in, then blanks out. Part of Biglots.com will load, but not the images. I've tested a few more also with varying results.
Also, every open tab displays as a separate icon when you hover over the taskbar icon instead of just a single icon for the program. 10 tabs, 10 icons, etc. Same happens in Vivaldi and Brave though, so must be a part of that system, whatever it is.

Some pages will load images after a refresh, but not all. Some load very slowly.

Maybe some websites will work now, like for me - yesterday one site was not functional and after update it works:

And I doubt they fixed it.
