So I just tried this.. I loaded up Xcode, and it is extremely easy and very well supported, for the menu bar to have modifier keys initiate different actions, including reading a middle click. Google chrome supports both command key and middle clicking in the Bookmarks menu bar.

So I hearby make a feature request for Seamonkey to support this behavior. It should be supported. The cocoa event handling guide has informative information that will help with this.

You both are using Windows.
I do believe SeaMonkey on Mac does things differently sadly.
