After updating from SeaMonkey 2.53.6 to SeaMonkey 2.53.7 I've lost some (basic for me) functionality of AdBlock Plus 2.9.1 version. It was not possible to view/edit filters and (detached) window with blockable items was empty.

Today I've read some chat discussion:
https://freenode.logbot.info/seamonkey/ ... 3#c7495800
... where is information about dropping versioned scripts.

I've checked Error Console and it showed (i.a.) this :
"Versioned JavaScripts are no longer supported. Please remove the version parameter."
[with a name of some XUL file]

Some more research and I get this info:
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird/Add-ons_Guide_57
versioned Javascript support -- replacement: In XUL files, links to JS files using <script type="application/x-javascript" ... > or <script type="application/x-javascript;version=1.7" ... >, change to <script type="application/javascript" ... >

Eureka! I decided to conduct some experiment:
1) I opened XPI file with 7-Zip (DO NOT extract, OPEN)
2) go to "chrome\content\ui\" folder
3) check all XUL files with "application/x-javascript" and replace
Code: Select all
<script type="application/x-javascript;version=1.7"

with
Code: Select all
<script type="application/javascript"

After saving each XUL file 7-Zip will ask if XPI file should be updated. Confirm (click "OK")
4) install ADB+ with modified XUL files (overwriting, without uninstalling)... SUCCESS! IT WORKS!!!

If some extension stopped working in SeaMonkey 2.53.7 then it can be this "bug":
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1390106
... and we have easy solution for this

I managed to unearth the last version of Textmarker Go that wasn't converted to WebExtension (0.7.4.1), and it converted great. Thanks!

Is there some repository I could donate the XPI to?

Hello everyone.
Please, I need to install tbSync AddOn in SeaMonkey ( https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/th ... on/tbsync/ ), but the converter complains there is no install.rdf

What can I do?

Thanks in advance for any help.

tbsync is WebExtension.
You can't install in SeaMonkey 2.53
You'll have to try 2.57

where did you get SeaMonkey 2.58?
or is that a misprint.
I got TbSync to install in SeaMonkey 2.57.
You to add SeaMonkey's description to the install.rdf.
<em:targetApplication>
<!-- Thunderbird -->
<Description>
<em:id>{3550f703-e582-4d05-9a08-453d09bdfdc6}</em:id>
<em:minVersion>60.0</em:minVersion>
<em:maxVersion>61.*</em:maxVersion>
</Description>
<!-- SeaMonkey -->
<Description>
<em:id>{92650c4d-4b8e-4d2a-b7eb-24ecf4f6b63a}</em:id>
<em:minVersion>2.57</em:minVersion>
<em:maxVersion>2.57*</em:maxVersion>
</Description>

What is colored in red is what I added.
I had to unblock the extension.
Windows 7 had blocked the .xpi from foriegn computer.
Don't know if it works. I don't connect to the cloud.
and sync maybe disabled in SeaMonkey.

Yes, sorry, I tried 2.53.8, not 2.58.
Where can I get 2.57 for Windows?

http://www.wg9s.com/comm-257/
I used: seamonkey-2.57a1pre.en-US.win64.installer.exe
On Tbsync I downloaded the oldest version (2.8).
used 7zip to open the xpi.
and 'komodo edit' to modify the file (install.rdf).

The "AMO Browsing for SeaMonkey" extension hasn't worked in years... but I don't have any extensions that I need to download anyway.

Don't recall how that worked, but SeaMonkey extensions are now at https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/seamonkey/
