Complain to the author of the extension as it's up to the author to maintain compatibility with newer versions of the browser, not the other way around.

Mozilla is the author of the add-on!!! And they stopped supporting it years ago, but other people have modified it to work with newer versions of SeaMonkey.

Looks like the author of the extension does, https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/seamonkey/addon/googlebar-fixed/.
But then again, I may be wrong.

It may need a bump. "Works with SeaMonkey 1.0 - 2.2.*"

Now says: "Works with Firefox 2.0 and later, SeaMonkey 1.0 and later " although the problem is that AMO is buggered and no longer offers to allow you to install incompatible versions.
Tip of the day: If it has "toolbar" in the name, it's crap.

Install link since AMO isn't cooperating:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/seamon ... bar-fixed/ does fix the problem.

You mean Google was the original author. Mozilla never made a Google toolbar extension for Firefox and SeaMonkey is a community project and not a Mozilla product.
The vast majority of Extensions hosted at addons.mozilla.org for Firefox, Thunderbird and SeaMonkey are by third-party authors. Mozilla does list some Extensions there as any Extensions that have Mozilla or Mozilla Labs as the Author were made by Mozilla.
The fixed version is by a third-party author that submitted it and yet to be approved.

The link no longer works.
Where can you still get googlebar_fixed-0.9.20.05.01-fx+sm.xpi?

No, Google was not the original author. The "Mozilla" Googlebar was a community project. The developers were affiliated with neither Google nor Mozilla.James wrote:You mean Google was the original author.WyleySam wrote:Mozilla is the author of the add-on!!! I've stashed a copy on my website in case anyone is still looking for it: googlebar_fixed-0.9.20.05.01-fx+sm.xpiBrak01 wrote:The link no longer works.

In case that link ever stops working, you can try posting on the Mozilla Googlebar mailing list—it worked for me when I ran up against a similar problem. Someone immediately sent me the link to a "fixed" version. Mind you, that was seven years ago, and there have been only two posts to the list since then.

You misread, I was saying Google was THE original author of the google toolbar and I did state the fixed version was by a third-party author and that Mozilla has no involvement with any such Google toolbars.Psychonaut wrote:No, Google was not the original author.James wrote:You mean Google was the original author.WyleySam wrote:Mozilla is the author of the add-on!!! But anyways this old thread is done.
