Hello:
The font size in seamonkey mail composer is too small for my eyes. I would like to increase it.
I know that I can set minimum font size in appearance settings but it messes the font size in the browser window. I would like to set mail composer font size independently from browser/web page font sizes . How can I do that? I've read that it can be done by adding code to userContent.css but couldn't find a code that works. I tried
.moz-text-flowed, .moz-text-plain, .moz-text-html {font-size: 20px !important;}
but it changes mail viewer font size, not the composer. What would be the code for composer font size?
Thanks,
suseuser04

Thanks, but it applies only to html messages. I never compose messages in html, I only use plain text for messages. I don't want format the text I send, I only want to set the font in the composer viewer window. (Similarly to libreoffice when I set the fonts to 12 pt but I can apply a zoom option to increase or decrease the page view.)

Edit > Preferences > Appearance > Fonts and set "Monospace" to a size that works for you.

What I did to change the font in the compose window was to use about:config. That was the only way that worked for me. I dislike Menlo font and the font was too small for me.
msgcompose.font_face -> Courier
msgcompose.font_size -> large
msgcompose.font_face -> Courier
msgcompose.font_size -> large

Try this, which works for everyone else -Anonymosity wrote:What I did to change the font in the compose window was to use about:config. That was the only way that worked for me.

Does that work for users that want to compose in plain text like suseuser04?Frank Lion wrote:Try this, which works for everyone else -Anonymosity wrote:What I did to change the font in the compose window was to use about:config. That was the only way that worked for me.

Looking at my SeaMonkey Mail & Newsgroups > Composition appears to be for HTML messages. I think plain text is monospace. My suggestion was tested in my SeaMonkey and WFM.

No, for plain text your method is the correct one.WLS wrote:Does that work for users that want to compose in plain text like suseuser04?Frank Lion wrote:Try this, which works for everyone else -Anonymosity wrote:What I did to change the font in the compose window was to use about:config. But for html text, it doesn't make sense to use a more complicated about:config route just to do that.

Re: seamonkey mail composer font size
I do post and read mail in plain text. Actually, I had to set the fonts that way for Thunderbird. When I started using SeaMonkey, it imported all the accounts and settings from Thunderbird. SM has the core of Thunderbird.
