Disappearing Toolbar and double text

Using SeaMonkey 2.40 on an 11 " MacBook Air

When SeaMonkey first opens the browser page is the google page and has the toolbar at the top.
When I go to Mail and Newsgroups under Window the toolbar disappears when the email page opens. I can click on an email but then have no way to return to the email page

A second issue is if I open gmail the list of emails is double text the word unstarred and then on top of that the email names

The third issue that just started today is in Facebook or with other popups, photos do not appear

I downloaded a new copy of SeaMonkey 2.40 but nothing has changed.

For your first issue, it sounds as if the toolbar is turned off in Mail. Try View -> Show/Hide and see if any toolbars are turned off when you are in the Mail window.
