I have downloaded, unpacked, and placed in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins directory. On about:plugins page is it shown as 25.0.d0, and the prolem still exists.

I've installed SeaMonkey 2.46 (I used SeaMonkey some years ago) on Linux Mint 18.
No flash.
The test in Firesfox as below (the same test in SeaMonkey: Nope...) Tested with: http://isflashinstalled.com/

"Detailed results

If SeaMonkey is still running when you do this then either restart SeaMonkey or type about:plugins in the Location (address) bar to scan system for new Plugins.
Not working.
Testing with isflashinstalled.com says YES Firefox :
Raw version Shockwave Flash 25.0 d0
type Plugin (Non-IE) Version 24.0.0
Adobe Flash Player Detection Kit (Server) installed=yes

For Opera it is:
Raw version Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0
else it is the same as for Firefox

For SeaMonkey it's still: Nope and about:plugins tells me that there is not any at all.
Sadly, because apart from this SeaMonkey is very good.

The SeaMonkey is a Norwegian edition of it. (2.46).

Hi,

I have done all above. Nothing has helped.
My web is www.uksesperanto.pl
I have news-ticker from flashXML.net.
It works on Firefox but doesn't on SeaMonkey.

Confirmed.
But I don't know why?
It does work in SeaMonkey 2.40, but not in 2.46?
Fire 750, bring back 250.

I just have reinstalled to 2.40 and it works.
Maybe it is problem with this plugin (news-ticker) to joomla.

I tried Linux LXLE 64-bit and flash works fine there.
It was slash 11.0, but it was easy to upgrade to 24.0 via Synaptic.
The SeaMonkey in this distros is not by far the newest, but I guess it will be updated if the distro is installed.
I just tried it out on an USB.
And the flash update was easyily done via Synaptic here...

I consider installing LXLE dual booting with Mint.
I like the distro and it has SeaMonkey as the default browser and mail.
Love that...

The problem is that the flash doesn't work with SM2.46, but with older versions.

The 64-bit Flash Player Plugin has been working fine for me with 64-bit SeaMonkey 2.46 from SeaMonkey and not Linux distro provided.

ove_pove, it appears you have 32-bit SeaMonkey running on 64-bit Linux.

I'm using ArchLinux, so the SM and Flash are surely the 64-bit version. And don't works.

Yes, I had 32-bit.
Then I tried to uninstall it and install the contributed version.
But there's something creepy about it.
I remove ~/.mozilla/seamonkey (http://www.seamonkey-project.org/doc/2. ... -uninstall), and the ll-commando shows no seamonkey.
Then, if writing seamonkey + enter in the terminal, seamonkey 2.40 starts again...
It seems impossible to remove it from the system.

bash: cd: /home/ove/.mozilla/seamonkey: Fila eller mappa finnes ikke (translated: the file or folder does not exist)
then: seamonkey + enter and seamon key restarts....

seamonkey
Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "atk-bridge"
GLib-GIO-Message: Using the 'memory' GSettings backend. Your settings will not be saved or shared with other applications.

Seamonkey is then on the air again....

Is it impossible to remove Seamonkey??????

Do I have to reinstall the complete OS to make this work????

So you've got a /seamonkey/ directory & the seamonkey archive, but where is the seamonkey executable?

Can you do something like...

Copy the tar.bz2 to someplace like /tmp/out/
Extract the contents of tar.bz2
(is it something like, bzip2 -d seamonkey.tar.bz2, or do you also need tar in there after the bunzip2, tar xvf seamonkey.tar?)
Navigate to where ever seamonkey is, so say, /tmp/out/seamonkey/seamonkey
Then execute seamonkey, ./seamonkey

What happens with that?
Fire 750, bring back 250.

If you run

Code: Select all

which seamonkey
it will tell you where the seamonkey executable is, if it's in your PATH.
