I've been meaning to ask this for long time and over several versions of SeaMonkey.
On the first opening of an email, garbage "Â Â Â Â" mixed in with the text is displayed as shown here...

Closing the viewing of the email and reopening it clears the "Â Â Â Â" garbage as follows...

Looks like SM is opening a UTF-8 encoded email as ISO-8859-1.
