In Privacy & Security > Passwords > Manage Stored Passwords > Password Permisions Only > Password Permissions Tab

You can specify Never Save for a site.

My bank uses a rotating sub-domain like https://securennn.mybank.com

Can I specify in the above window https://*.mybank.com to tell SM never to ask to store a PW for any sub-domain of https://mybank.com?

No wildcards don't work or if they work they will stop doing so in 2.49 (FF52) when this is migrated to the permissions api. In 2.49 SeaMonkey uses the same api as Firefox here and it got a major overhaul in 2.39 (FF42).

You can try disabling https://mybank.com in the Data Manager but not sure if this works.

Thanks. The exception in FF work just fine when I use https://mybank.com. I'll give it a try here and if it doesn't work will just have to wait for SM 2.49.

Again thanks.

If it works in Firefox it should be too in SeaMonkey. The Data Manager is not the must intuitive piece of software but you should be able to get the exception in. If not just holler and I will see to check out what you need to do. I fixed it up for 2.46 because it was somewhat broken in 2.40 with the api changes.

In Privacy & Security > Passwords > Manage Stored Passwords > Password Permisions Only > Password Permissions Tab (see below); there seems to be no way to remove an entry.

.... there seems to be no way to remove an entry.

If you want to remove that password, you could use the old password-manager:

    chrome://passwordmgr/content/passwordManager.xul

Thanks but that is not a PW. It is an instruction whether to ask/not ask to save a PW.

That is one of the areas which are not so intuitive :)

Set it to "always ask" and it will be deleted. This is the default. Likewise in the Permissions panel but there is a checkbox. The password permissions panel will go away. In 2.48 its merged back into the permissions panel.

Thanks, works fine for removal. Unfortunately wild cards don't and simply using https://mybank.com which works in FF also does not work.

Hmm. There should be nothing different between FF and SeaMonkey here but as stated there were some changes in the backend code Firefox 51 already uses the permissions api. If it doesn't work in 2.48 please file a bug. If it worked in Firefox 49 copy your logins.json from your firefox profile into your SeaMonkey profile when SeaMonkey is not running. Back up the SeaMonkey one in case something goes wrong.

No joy. Will have to wait for next release of SM and see. In the meantime will just dismiss the bank drop-down.

This is what I use in FF. It is in the Security Tab in Preferences:

It is very intuitive and works without having to use a sub-domain. I'm not sure where that information is stored; could be in a sqlite file.
