hi,
there is an option to set a limit time for cookies :
"Accept cookies for [__] days: Select this if you want to limit the length of time any cookie can remain on your computer, then type the number of days."
The help doc does not respond to my questions, so i ask to you.
what will happen if i set to 1 day the cookies'lifetime ?
does it mean each morning i will have to log again in ALL the websites i visited ?
what will happen if i set to 0 day the cookies'lifetime ?
does it means ALL cookies will be erased from my computer or just alter to not running, like in "desable" state ?
if they will be deleted, when will it happen ? once i re-launch seamonkey ? or once i click the OK button in the advanced option dialog ?
another question: where are the cookies stored on my computer (win7 x64) ? in singular file (where is the path) or in datasetream included in a databased ?
thanks for help
what will happen if i set to 0/1 day the cookies'lifetime ?

If you do not want cookies for certain sites to persist, why not just limit them to session cookies?

I have no idea how you would do that. Examining cookies shows the expiry dates, but not the ages.

- I believe O.P. is referring to a global option (Preferences > Privacy & Security > Cookies) so it should not just limit certain sites.
- If you leave the browser open all the time cookies will never be deleted. I can have a SeaMonkey session go for a month or two easily.

They're stored in "cookies.sqlite" file, located in your profile:Michael REMY wrote:shall you help me to discover where the cookies are stored please ?

To read such content you can use e.g. "SQLite Manager":
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/seamon ... e-manager/
... but probably some conversion is required:

When you open database then you can sort cookies by "creationTime". It's in microseconds counted from particular date:
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/doc ... nsICookie2
Find some online date calculator and "count on it"...

SQLite Manager works in SeaMonkey without conversion.TPR75 wrote:To read such content you can use e.g. "SQLite Manager":
