How do I Maximize the "New Bookmark" window (i.e. "Bookmarks > File Bookmark > New Bookmark")? What I find is that when I click the "Maximize" icon at the top right of the window, it only maximizes in the horizontal direction! I, have discovered, however, that if I right-click the top border of the window and choose "Maximize", it maximizes in both directions! This seems to be to be a bug -- is there actually a reason for this action?
What I wish is for it to default to the maximized mode. At least, a click on the "Maximize" Icon should achieve it. I'm leaving the "Opera" environment for the Seamonkey integrated mail feature that Opera threw away! Opera Bookmarks were always maximized. I almost gave up on Mozilla over these two issues: 1) Firefox only has "Simple" integrated email, and 2) I thought Seamonkey didn't have an indication that a URL was already Bookmarked. The Maximize problem was rubbing salt in the wound. Then I discovered the "Bookmark" icon at the right of the URL bar, and found that it was more efficient than either Firefox OR Opera!!! So now I want to overcome remaining obstacles.
I'm using Seamonkey version 2.46a1 on Debian 8.6 in an ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO Mother Board.
Thanks for your help.

Why do you use a1? It still has some problems compared to the final 2.46.
2.46 is available here: https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/seamonk ... ases/2.46/
The dialog will currently only save the horizontal width. I tried to save the vertical height also when fixing a bug in 2.40 but ran into problems and out of time. Some user css might do the job.

Re: Maximize "New Bookmark"
I'm not seeing any 'Maximise' button in the 'New Bookmark' window. Is this something that is only available in Linux? I'm using Win 7 Pro.

Re: Maximize "New Bookmark"
Do you mean "File Bookmark"? I set this in userChrome.css to fix the size:
I did not want it maximized, just large enough to show all the folders.
Code: Select all
/* Increase size/height of the expanded bookmarks panel */
#editBMPanel_folderTree {
min-width:360px !important; min-height:584px !important;}
#bookmarkproperties {
min-width:810px !important; min-height:880px !important;}

Not really that hard to understand the OP, I thought.

Re: Maximize "New Bookmark"
For me, Ctrl + Shift + B opens a private browser window and there is no 'New Bookmark' under 'File'. If I go to: Bookmarks | Manage Bookmarks | File New Bookmark this is what I get:

As you noted, Dave, the OP is using Linux, as I am. Guess the mystery maximise button is a Linux thing.amrad wrote:... this is what I get

Yep, that maximise button is Linux-specific. And IIRC, different desktop environments and window managers behave very differently here.Frank Lion wrote:Guess the mystery maximise button is a Linux thing.
mr.Lauren, what desktop environment and window manager are you using?
