I have SM 2.46. In he past I always was able to upgrade SM when I got a notice. Lately I am getting a message that something is preventing SM from updating securely. Check if you have the latest SM from http://www.seamonkey.org. Nothing has changed in Avast or Malwarebytes.
What is the problem? Does SM 2.49 do anything to corrupt my old profile (mail, bookmarks, passwords, etc). I have seen messages that it does.
Bob.

Re: Something Preventing SM From Updating
In my case it was Avast Anti Virus preventing the update. Suspending Avast for the period of time to run the update would make it update automatically. There is a way to allow the anti virus software to allow the update but I couldn't figure it out so I just turn off the anti virus briefly.
