Seamonkey versus Firefox and Thunderbird

Post by RobertDemo »

I would like to replace Seamonkey by Firefox and Tunderbird and to save and reinstall all my messages which are in my profile.
Could you tell me how can I do that?

How is the account set up in SeaMonkey now, as POP or IMAP?

For the management of the messages I use Orange with the option POPUP. That is, all the messages are stored in my PC.

If that is indeed a POP3 type account see this article to transfer message files from the SeaMonkey profile to the profile which will be created when you install Thunderbird -- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_ ... hunderbird
For a concise, less detailed version of the process, see this thread --

For an alternative approach, see tanstaafl's posts in this thread -- http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... #p14209121

Many thanks for your help. I confess I am not an expert in this area. Then, I shall try install Firefox in my PC without removing
Seamonkey in order to apply the instructions in the environment of my PC.
