I use Seamonkey and I use Google and I click on the search results links all the time with no problems. I have the useragent for google set to:

general.useragent.override.google.com;Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0

I just quit using GOOGLE for a search engine and now I use DuckDuckGo. Works just fine, and I'm not being tracked all over the internet.
The choice is right there in Edit/Preferences/Browser/Internet Search/ Default Search Engine

I tried DuckDuckGo for awhile, didn't like it so went back to Google.

=D> Thanks TPR75! You've solved a pain for me for quite some time! #-o
Now Google thinks my browser is using Chrome on Windows 10 with the user agent config hack!

What a difference Google looks like with this!
