xfinity email changes

User Help for Seamonkey and Mozilla Suite

Xfinity has made changes to its email server.
I mad the changes they recommended but this morning I am not able to get my email.
they want me to change to Imap from pop
I have no idea how to do this can anyone help?

That doesn't sound right. What, exactly, did Xfinity communicate to you in regard to this change? Are you using this email account for commercial purposes or personal uses?

My bad.
After talking to Xfinity tech help who was no help at all, i carefully reread the email again and realized i had not changed the connection security from starttls to
ssl/tls. I made the change and all is well.
He insisted I was going to have to move to Imap.

No problem. First tier support staff are often nothing more than script readers with no real understanding of what they are dealing with.
