Should be working in 2.53, as far as I can tell.
Create a new, clean Profile, open your link & ... ?

Nope, SeaMonkey 2.53 doesn't display the video that I linked to in my original post. This is starting from a completely fresh install (that is, with ~/.mozilla/seamonkey removed) and without applying rereser's workaround. I am using the WG9s 64-bit Linux build.
