How to 'clone' SeaMonkey under Ubuntu Mate ??

Post by smallhagrid »

Hi Folks.
I use Ubuntu Mate 18.04 & SeaMonkey 2.49.5 on my desktop PC, and also on my notebook PC which is new.
On the desktop PC my email accounts are set up & all up to date (IMAP, address book, etc...).

My query, please:
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to locate where SeaMonkey has its files & just over-write another identical version installation so as to get all the settings, etc. duplicated ??

I have seen this article:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_ ... _SeaMonkey

Whereas my query is whether the entire structure can just be copied somehow.

Thanks for any helpful replies !!

The article you cited is exactly the information you need to clone the settings and data from one SeaMonkey profile to another on a second machine. The files in the SeaMonkey profile contain both user selected settings and the settings for access email accounts on the provider's servers, as well (potentially) as previously received messages. The presence of the latter data would depend on the type of email account (POP or IMAP) and choices made in the original profile.
