I came to SeaMonkey when NetscapeNavigator no longer worked.
I still like the mail program.
Recently when I run DuckDuckGo searches and choose the Image option, all of the 'image fields' are blank.
Do I have something wrongly configured?
I hate to move to Chrome, too.
thanks

No problem with images here either. I'm running version 2.53.5 under Win 10. Have you tried launching the application in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode

Probably/possibly. The usual scenario with no images showing on just one site is the user accidentally hitting 'Block images from...' when they right click on an image.baumgrenze wrote:Do I have something wrongly configured?
.
#1. Go to problem webpage, right click on the page and select 'View Page Info'.
#2. In Page Info, go to Permissions and check images are not blocked and change the image permission if so.
#3. You're done.
Good for you. I'd hate to move to Russia.I hate to move to Chrome, too.

Here is a link to what I am seeing:
https://imgur.com/a/wQIOWHw
All the permissions are set to 'use default' so 'load images' is 'allowed.'
I do need to confess that I am a 'Luddite' who is still operating under Win7/Pro x64
thanks

That looks fine, which is almost a pity as that is the easiest solution.
Now the hard troubleshooting slog starts -
...and there's more after doing that.DanRaisch wrote:No problem with images here either. I'm running version 2.53.5 under Win 10. Have you tried launching the application in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode
Also check if JavaScript is enabled on that site and how you are handling 3rd party cookies there.
A screenshot of the (non) images page might be useful as well, for clues.

I think you were (seeing it), already, in the shot that he posted .A screenshot of the (non) images page might be useful as well

As a test, create a new clean Profile, open the above ddg search & ... ?
Also note that those ("thumbnail") images do not come from ddg, but rather from bing.net.
So if you're blocking bing...
Fire 750, bring back 250.

Re: DuckDuckGo Search - No Images Displayed
Sorry to come back after over 4 months.
Here's what I'm experiencing. Here are snips of the same image search terms in DDG, Bing, and Google. As you can see, DDG has no images but Bing and Google do. These snips were taken in fairly quick succession and only resized in PSE6.
This happens with:
User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0 SeaMonkey/2.53.7.1
Build identifier: 20210410220940
under Win7/Pro x64

I'd like to use DDG, I like their philosophy. This forum taught me about its virtues. This seems the only place I can ask this question. I could not find a DDG forum. Perhaps I searched wrongly.

My aging memory let me forget the place I just now posted this:

If I get replies I'll share them here.

Have you tried to start SM in safe mode or with a new profile?

Works for me with default settings and cookies were not accepted (Warning! 6 MB "long" JPG):
Check your ads blocker and/or JS blocker. Something must be blocked in your profile. You can check if DDG works correct by creating new profile (just for test).
