Upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit Seamonkey
What needs to be done to upgrade from Seamonkey 2.53.8.1 32 bit to 2.53.8.1 64 bit? Will email and book marks transfer? Is there any written Step by Step Instructions?

Make full backup of your SeaMonkey profile -> uninstall 32-bit -> restart (because it's Windows) -> install 64-bit -> usefinn111 wrote:What needs to be done to upgrade from Seamonkey 2.53.8.1 32 bit to 2.53.8.1 64 bit? Thanks for the reply. Does it pick up the email? How about the profile? Does email and profile stay when you uninstall the 32 bit?

The profile is compatible with both versions and will not be removed when you uninstall. As TPR75 stated just uninstall, reboot and reinstall. You might need to set default browser and file associations new but that is it.

32 bit SeaMonkey seems to be eminently satisfactory for my purposes.
What are the plus or minus trade-offs of transitioning from 32 bit SM to 64 bit?

I have 64-bit SeaMonkey and yet when it reaches 1,000+ MB in Task Manager (which is quickly these days), I have to close the browser and restart it to get rid of the lag. It's very annoying. This has only been happening in the past year or so.

Is not an end-all & is likely to be of limited value at that.about:memory and <Free Memory>
(With the way current websites work, 64-bit version of SeaMonkey is not an end-all - but at least you can probably go longer before you have to restart SeaMonkey (or till SeaMonkey crashes).)
Fire 750, bring back 250.
