When:New Version of Seamonkey Portable ??

Post by lazybones88 »

When will there be a new version of Seamonkey portable? Using 2.53.8.1 now but wonder when newer versions will be stable enough to make a new portable version. :?: And is Seamonkey ever going to be able to play Amazon videos and such?

Thanks for everything.

When a new update to SeaMonkey Portable is available would be a decision of John Haller and the team at Portable Apps, not the SeaMonkey team.

As for Amazon videos, I just watched the "Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut - Launch Trailer" on Amazon using SeaMonkey 2.53.8. (I'll update to 2.53.9 later today.)What's happening when you try to view a video on Amazon? Have you tried Mozilla SafeMode?

I get-- Microsoft Silverlight is not installed-- but it is. If I download it and try to install it says Silverlight is already installed.

Thanks,

Release notes: Support for all NPAPI plugins like Flash, Java and Silverlight has been removed.

And Silverlight itself is going EOL in less then a couple months.

Might you be using SeaMonkey 2.49.5 ?

I am using both Seamonkey 2.45 installed on hard drive and Seamonkey 2.53.8.1 on portable drive. Acts the the same with both.
Thanks,

Well, forget about 2.53.8.1 & Silverlight (cause Silverlight will never work there).

In 2.45, what does about:plugins show?

Thanks for the link. As with 2.49.5,2.53.8.1 and now 2.53.9 --I can not watch Movies on Amazon or on Discovery+. Amazon says no Silverlight and Discovery+ (which I have a subscription to) say something about ERROR CODE: DRM_NOT_SUPPORTED. I there no way to watch movies with Seamonkey? I love SM but just wish there was some work around. Thanks for any advise

2.49.5 is the last to support Silverlight. (I have no idea about Amazon, & if it is DRM'd...)
No SeaMonkey supports DRM (so you have to use something else for that).
