Google has disabled my mailbox as of today.
They announced that less secure third party applications would stop working on May 30.
Looks like I got an extra day yesterday.
Now what?
When I try to check for mail, I get the password required dialog box and it refuses my usual password.
Is there a way to continue using POP with Gmail?
Thanks!

Search the forums, for the answer to your question. This issue has been discussed many times lately.
And BTW using that version of SeaMonkey (totally obsolete and EOL) you will NOT be able to do absolutely NOTHING.Code: Select all

Outgoing Port 587 and security STATTLS are working for me.

Thank you!! This worked for me, with one minor tweak: The second 'authentication method' didn't have OAuth2 as a choice, so I used 'normal password' instead.Johnfull wrote:This works for me, Thanks!

Surprised "normal password" worked. And, yes, there is an SMTP option for 0Auth2.

Not for me. As noted, I'm talking about the *second* SMTP section in the instructions above.Peter Creasey wrote:Surprised "normal password" worked. And, yes, there is an SMTP option for 0Auth2.

Re: POP mail using Gmail account
It was *not* there when I 'edit'ed the outgoing server, i.e., from within the GM account's settings; it *is* there now, after 'add'ing it via SM's outgoing server settings. When I 'edit'ed the outgoing server to begin with, from GM's settings, I was actually editing my [until now] ONLY server settings, i.e., for my Earthlink account. Maybe some combination of settings there eliminated the OAuth2 choice from the drop-down menu, because it definitely wasn't there. It's all good now, though!Peter Creasey wrote:<mail & newsgroup acct settings><outgoing server SMTP><SMTP gmail acct><edit><authentication method><OAuth2>
