Two questions
Hi!
i. I would be extremely happy with SM, but there are more and more sites which are not displayed correctly in SM. I think it is in most cases a problem with Java [edited: Javascript] elements in those pages. E.g. there are specific elements of a page (sometimes essential, like a login field) which are displayed in Edge, but not in SM. Maybe you can reproduce this here:
https://www.ikea.com/de/de/search/produ ... terschrank
In Edge there is a selection bar (for sorting, size, color etc.) which is not displayed in SM at all.
Are there solutions to improve this SM behavior?
ii. If an eml file (stored externally) is opened in SM, there can be seen that there is an attachment, but the attachment can not be accessed (to be saved or opened). Any solution?

Re: Two questions
Perhaps someone else will chime in here but I don't think too many sites use much Java anymore. Don't confuse Java with Javascript -- they are totally different. I did not see any Java reference in the source of that page of Ikea. The page appears to load perfectly in Firefox and Chrome.
I often take a long windy road to my destination. Upon arrival, I wonder how I missed the shortcut.

Thank you, Bruce!
I ment Javascript, of course.
You don't use SM? If you studied the source code of the Ikea page: What could be the problem for SM?

Re: Two questions
I just downloaded SM ver 2.9b4 and I am unable to connect to Ikea at all. I tried the link, I tried using http:// but I am able to connect to https://www.Yahoo.com
Are there some magic tricks to using SeaMonkey? I don't usually follow but may start

Oh, boy. It is ancient version. Try latest:BruceAWittmeier wrote:I just downloaded SM ver 2.9b4 and I am unable to connect to Ikea at all.

Right now it's 2.53.12 but tomorrow (or so) should be 2.53.13.

Re: Two questions
Yep, the best magic trick with SM is not to use a version that is 10 years old like, for instance, 2.9b4. Why? Because the security certificates will all be out of date and you'll get messages like -BruceAWittmeier wrote:I just downloaded SM ver 2.9b4 and I am unable to connect to Ikea at all. Re: Two questions
Thank you. I just pulled it from the "releases" directory just like I get Firefox and Thunderbird for those version updates.

Re: Two questions
OK ButchZ you posted your first post above with Firefox but it appears you are current with SeaMonkey Ver 2.53.12. My fresh installation connected to Ikea just fine.
No clue why yours failed. Did you get an error message/code?
Do you have addons? Other tweaks?

Easy one? I'm afraid it's not. But you can import EML message using proper add-on:ButchZ wrote:If an eml file (stored externally) is opened in SM, there can be seen that there is an attachment, but the attachment can not be accessed (to be saved or opened). Any solution?

The question is: Do you see really in SM the selection bar with "Sortieren - Maße - Farbe - Kategorie - Preis - ..."? In Edge or Chrome this bar is shown immediately above the images of products. My SM doesn't show this bar.BruceAWittmeier wrote:My fresh installation connected to Ikea just fine.
PS:
Another site: Compare how https://www.deepl.com/translator is displayed in SM and in Edge or Chrome.

- Well, you can thank that bunch of lazy/retarded webmasters in charge of those crappy websites (using crappola like Polyfills,
WebComponents, ServiceWorkers ... etc).
And, for designing web pages to be used specifically with ChromeCrap.
Which as of today, the current version of SeaMonkey does not fully support.
So, you'll have to use ChromeCrap, Firefox or derivatives ... Edge, Brave, Opera ... etc

- Same as above. You have exactly the same problem, as on IKEA website.
Cheers !!

ButchZ -- I know you were referring to SeaMonkey but when I read your UA I assumed (shame on me) that you posted with Firefox. No harm, no foul.Firefox? I was talking in my first post about "SM" = SeaMonkey, and we are here in the "SeaMonkey Support" forum ...

Re: Two questions
So, EITxolo and Bruce, you can confirm that both pages from my post arn't displayed correctly in SeaMonkey?
Is maybe here somebody who has experimented with special settings etc. for SM which could improve these deficites?
