vcf file

Post by Peter Creasey »

When people send contact information, it is often in the form of a vcf file. Since my SeaMonkey can't interpret a vcf file, I have to revert to my online mail system to read it.

Is there some way to set SM so the vcf file can be interpreted?

Thanks.

I know not Mail, but maybe this might tell you something?

"A vCard as an attachment is only recognized by Thunderbird if the message is in "Original HTML" format. You can check your chosen message format in the View > Message body as menu. Also make sure View -> Display Attachments Inline is checked."

(It seems a .vcf is essentially a text file, though it can contain BASE64 or whatnot encoded data - which could then be something other then "text".)
Fire 750, bring back 250.

Just click on icon and new address book windows should appear with option to save new contact/vCard:

.. if you want to save such information presented in message body.
A vCard as an attachment is only recognized by Thunderbird [SeaMonkey too] if the message is in "Original HTML" format. You can check your chosen message format in the View -> Message body as menu. Also make sure View -> Display Attachments Inline is checked.
