Seamonkey using 2 gb memory
I'm assuming that is my issue.
Brand new PC with hard drive, 16 GB Ram, Nvidia Graphic card 6gb. I installed Seamonkey fresh, no backup copy.
I have 2 tabs open and the lag is incredible just to select a different tab.
I closed out the window. I mainly shop on Amazon which I cannot even do and use Second Life.

Have you restarted the computer since installing SeaMonkey?

Re: Seamonkey using 2 gb memory
I find I have to shut down and restart Seamonkey after a couple of hours of use, as it does seem to build up and not release ram used. I only have 8gb.
If you see 2GB for seamonkey alone in taskmanager, it is far overdue for a restart. Since it restarts so quickly, I don't see that as a big issue.
No need to restart the computer. But then again, I do a full restart of my laptop every few days.

Yes, I've restarted the pc...
It seems like now Seamonkey can't handle YouTube or Amazon, or Foodnetwork. sighs
YouTube doesn't have ads so I could use that in the past but now that's changed, I guess. Right now it's using 600mb and I can type and switch between the 2 tabs AFTER closing YouTube video. But chrome is using 1gb which seems like a lot.

Just enter about:memory in the top bar and exercise the 3 "Free Memory" capabilities one at a time.

Hayley3, are you using 32 or 64-bit version of SM?
Btw, have you installed uBlock Origin?

64 bit SM
Never heard of uBlock but it says I have to use Firefox, and I didn't see a link to download in that url. And since my viewer is so lagged, it's hard to search for it.

Re: Seamonkey using 2 gb memory
(While that may be fine, not posting live links, the file is on github, so she cannot download the file - because it is on github
- unless she has the palefill extension installed, first. But the palefill extension is on github. So she can't download palefill (from SeaMonkey). And she would need an older version of palefill at that... )
So, you have to use another browser to download uBlock Origin.

No you don't.therube wrote:So, you have to use another browser to download uBlock Origin.
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... #p14943121This also fixes the 'Assets' on Github as well, so you don't need those extensions
