Does anybody know what causes this?
Does anybody know how to fix it besides going round Robin Hood's Barn?
(I can fix it by creating a new folder with similar name, "copy all" the old one into it, deleting the old one, adjust any filter rules, and after closing and reopening Mozilla all is well -- till next time -- and BTW, the fact that works should indicate to you that there really wasn't any unread mail in the folder)?

BTW --- the reason I am not registered with the site is that SOMETHING went bizarrely wrong. I'll try again IF I have a "contact" in case it repeats.
