K-Meleon (another Mozilla browser) was my favorite for several years.
K-Meleon was not working with reCAPTCHA. I posted on the K-Meleon forum. Several K-Meleon experts
made suggestions, but nothing helped.
The Google requirements for reCAPTCHA list Firefox as compatible:
https://support.google.com/recaptcha/an ... 3828?hl=en
I just installed the latest version of Light Firefox (48.0).
https://sourceforge.net/projects/lightfirefox/files/
As you can see from this image, Light Firefox is not working with reCAPTCHA, just like K-Meleon.

I googled "firefox not working with reCAPTCHA." 41,000 results on the list. Obviously, this is a common
problem. Many have suggested disabling add-ons. There are no add-ons having just installed this browser.
I hope a forum member has a solution. If Light Firefox can't display those reCAPTCHA boxes I'll be forced
to uninstall.

Does Light 48 coincide with FF 48?
I would suspect it is your User Agent that is causing the issue & not any particular browser or browser version.
Change your UA to a current FF UA, then try your captcha site.

Moving to Third Party builds as the reported problem is with a non-Mozilla version of Firefox.

Hello therube.
I do not think there is a direct correlation between Light 48 and FF 48. The date listed next to Light Firefox 48
is 07/31/16. There is a Light Firefox 49RC. I always avoid release candidate or beta versions of any app. They
all have unresolved bugs.
I should have mentioned that I tried many different UA strings with K-Meleon. Didn't work. Maybe I'll have
better luck with Light Firefox.
This site lists many generic UA strings for Firefox 50.0.

TheVisitor, I was trying to join this forum. They use reCAPTCHA.

DanRaisch, Light Firefox uses the Gecko engine, just like its big brother. I understand that Light Firefox
is not an "official" Mozilla product. I use lightweight browsers almost exclusively. They always load web
pages faster, and that's what I need.
Please perform a quick Google search. Type something like, "firefox not displaying reCAPTCHA." There are
countless posts, blogs, etc., describing big problems with Firefox and reCAPTCHA.
Here is a 2013 post at mozillaZine (ReCaptcha impossibly difficult on Firefox exclusively.)

Searching for a solution (usually Google) is the first thing we all do. When you find thousands of other people
having the same problem with an app it's kind of a relief! The assumption is you'll find a fix if you just go down
that Google results list. After reading dozens of old posts about this problem it's obvious there is no simple cure.

Re: reCAPTCHA Does Not Work!
I tried a generic UA string for Firefox 50 and visited two sites with a reCAPTCHA. It actually worked, but there is
a problem!
I cleared the cache (history, cookies, etc.) and closed Light Firefox. Opened the browser again and returned to
the same two sites. For some reason, it failed to show the reCAPTCHA. The question is, why did the reCAPTCHA
show the first time, but not when I returned to the same two sites?
After reading a lot about this problem, I don't think there is a logical solution. There are probably hundreds of
possible causes.
If I find a solution I'll return to this thread.
Thanks guys.
