Librewolf does not save anything [SOLVED]

Post by eyeV »

After right-clicking on the image > "Save image as...", nothing happens
I can't save anything via firefox, downloads just won't start
UPD: It works with right mouse button > "Take Screenshot"
UPD2: I tried experimenting with the permissions in the Flatseal app and nothing changed

My system:
Devuan 4 chimaera (last update)
Firefox 108.0.1 | Flathub version

SOLVED!!!

You should have installed the xdg-desktop-portal-gtk package as well as the xdg-desktop-portal package (preferably)

In my case it is:
su
apt install xdg-desktop-portal-gtk xdg-desktop-portal

!!! Make sure to reboot your system afterwards !!!

Moved to Third Party/Unnofficial Builds as Librewolf is not an official Mozilla version.

Please clarify which you are using. Your subject refers to Librewolf but the user agent signature and your system definition refer to Firefox 108.x.x.

Does the same thing occur if you launch the application in Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode

Running 108.0.1 I can't reproduce what you are reporting.

DanRaisch, This seems to be a problem with Firefox interacting with my system software
Or maybe it's because I'm using the Flatpak version
I don't know if you can help me here

When you try to save an image do you get software options to open/view or save and where to save.
Check to see where things get saved first.
Seems like your running a Linux distro and you may need some support from a package like Image Magic, or the image viewer native to your OS.
Doesn't matter what you say, it's wrong for a toaster to walk around the house and talk to you

Grumpus, Nothing is saved anywhere, not in any folder, the folder selection menu does not open, and even if I select "Save page as" or click the download button on any site nothing happens
Nothing appears in the download section

I tried selecting a folder to save in the settings, and the file chooser opens there

Off Center: Do you have a screenshot package (not the one in Firefox)
If so try and use it to save a page image. Usually there's an automatic location selected.
