Gtk3 parameter in nightly Linux builds

Post by fabrixx2 »

I still need the

Code: Select all

--enable-default-toolkit=cairo-gtk3
parameter since the nightly are already in GTK3. it is still necessary to specify in mozconfig?

Thank you.

Interesting question. I tried compiling Firefox with 1) the above line in the mozconfig file, 2) replacing the gtk3 with gtk2, and 3) removing the line altogether. Firefox compiled without the above parameter looked exactly like when you compile with the --enable-default-toolkit=cairo-gtk3 option. And of course, the 2'nd compile used the gtk2 toolkit.

So I'm assuming it's safe to leave the line out now.

Hope this helps. ;)

I thank you very much for the evidence that you have made, it was precisely the answer I wanted to hear. So I think that it is no longer necessary to use it

I saw that you can check the parameters used by reading about:buildconfig and in later versions downloaded from mozilla ftp i do not see GTK3 parameter.
