Firefox 52.7.3 ESR vs other browsers with add-on support
Is there currently any other recommendable browsers which support legacy add-ons other than 52.7.3 ESR and Waterfox in macOS?

No

Yes! I use PaleMoon (http://www.palemoon.org/) and find that it works very nicely.

but OP is using a MacOS and there are no "official" releases of Palemoon for MacOS, atm.
there are some unofficial builds of PM for macosx in the palemoon forums:

currently the PaleMoon browser supports just Windows & Linux platforms
