Force Tor to exit in a given country?

Post by littlebigman »

Hello,

I know Tor is a different beast, but since it's based on Firefox and I got no reply from the Tor… website… I figured someone here might know.

I'd like to watch a video available on a website that bans viewers from outside Canada.

So I followed this tutorial to force Tor to exit in Canada… to no avail:
This video is restricted from playing in your current geographic region Error Code: PLAYER_ERR_GEO_RESTRICTED
FWIW, I'm using 8.0.3 (based on Mozilla Firefox 60.3.0esr) (32-bit) on Windows.

What else could I try?

Thank you.

For some reason, this forum appended "/ntry-ip-address/" at the end of the URL :-/

I…
1. added the following to my "c:\Users\jdoe\Desktop\Tor Browser\Browser\TorBrowser\Data\Tor\torrc":

Code: Select all

ExitNodes {ca}
2. restarted Tor
3. loaded the URL: It still won't play.

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you.
