While I am waiting for trunk build for being less busted, I have found some time to make a i686 optimized build for gtk2 and xft.
It is a 9.6 Mb tar.bz2 build, you can find here.

Note : I downgraded from gnome 2.6 -> gnome 2.4, because of many problems under X :[
