Tried it out, but as reported on Burning edge, it (seems?) is much slower on rendering pictures. Note that I didn't create a new profile, as I was to lazy to install all from the top. This might be the reason why I couldn't install any extensions either. Those already installed worked fine though.
Dolemn, those issues are both bugs, not specific to Stipe's build. Some people seem to be having trouble installing extension in newer nightlies, but for others it seems to work fine. One thing most people have said still works is installing extensions from your harddrive, so if you need to install a n ew extension, download the XPI file to your harddrive and run it locally by dragging it into an open browser window or with file -- open.
Anyway good to see you back in the game Stipe ^_^. Are you going to continue building 02/GLA7 without SSE? I'm curious to see how these compare to Bluefyre's builds, which seem to be almost identical except for SSE. Is this build actually from yesterday though? The UA date says 5/09 and it doesn't seem to have the second batch of new artwork.
Sorry for not mentioning it, but no, it's not Stipes fault! =)
Unfortunately, installing from HDD was what I tried first, because I have those I use saved. But it didn't work either.
A long time ago, I did a large number of tests to see the difference between the SSE and nonSSE builds on Athlon XP, and all that tests showed that Athlon XP works faster if SSE is not used.
I didn't test that just with Firefox, but with many other applications as well.
I will continue to build the -O2 -GLA7 builds and, if someone wants, requested custom builds.
Do you have find as you type turned off in this build? I had to go back to Bluefyre's 5/9 because find as you type wasn't working in yours. If so would you consider building with it turned on instead? I like your builds, but I can't get along without find as you type.
