Post by daihard »

Firefox optimized for Pentium-4/SSE-2

What's New: New optimization flags
Feature: XFT, GTK2, Inline AutoComplete
Linking: Dynamic linking

Location: http://pryan.org/firebird/daihard
Platform: Turbolinux 10
Kernel: 2.6.0-6
Compiler: GCC 3.3.1
GLIBC: 2.3.2
Opt. flag: "-O3 -march=pentium4 -msse2 -fomit-frame-pointer -fforce-addr"
Requires Pentium-4 / SSE-2

Note: In order to enable Inline AutoComplete, you need to add the following line to your user.js:

Code: Select all

user_pref("browser.urlbar.autoFill", true);

OK, fetching.

Could you make a P3/SSE build too?

EDIT: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8a) Gecko/20040513 Firefox/0.8.0+ (daihard: XFT+GTK2; opt. for P4/SSE-2)

I've actually been trying to build a P3 version, too, but for some reason my script stopped working for P3 builds. I will hopefully be able to fix it on the weekend.

It does happen from time to time, but not always.

True - your builds never break, and so far my 20040509 Thunderbird build is OK as well.
