[FX] MozJF: 2004-05-26 [branch/Linux] (gtk2+xft i686)

Post by MozJF »

Hello.

For linux and i686 CPUs (Pentium Pro/2/3/4, Celeron, Athlon/AthlonXP and Duron). It is built dynamically. If you face a problem running it, please tell me !

This build needs a linux distro based on a glibc 2.3.2 (or younger). As far as I know, Mandrake 9.2/10.0, Fedora Core 1 (and 2 ?), Slackware 9.1 / current are compatible. LIbranet 2.8.1 was reported as compatible too. Many others could be too.

This build is using AVIARY_1_0_20040515_BRANCH.

Note : help seems to be broken on this branch, but works on 2nd start, about:plugins page is blank.

Sources used where up-to-date at midnight, mozilla.org time.

Optimization used in .mozconfig :

Code: Select all

ac_add_options --enable-optimize='-Os -freorder-blocks -gstabs+ -march=i686'

It is a 9.2 Mb .tar.bz2 file. You can find it here :

Comments welcome.

Thanks.

I tried your <a href="http://pryan.org/mozilla/firefox/mozjf/firefox-branch-gtk2+xft-26-05-2004.tar.bz2">firefox-branch-gtk2+xft-26-05-2004.tar.bz2</a> but it doesn't start on my computer.
When I start profilemanager from console I get some errors:

Code: Select all

jumper@linux:~> /opt/firefox/firefox -profilemanager
nsNativeComponentLoader: SelfRegisterDll(libnkgnomevfs.so) Load FAILED with error: libgnomevfs-2.so.0: cannot open shared object file: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden
nsNativeComponentLoader: SelfRegisterDll(libnegotiateauth.so) Load FAILED with error: libgssapi_krb5.so.2: cannot open shared object file: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden
I can use profilemanager to rename or delete old profiles but hitting the "START FIREFOX" button turns out the second part of error message:

Code: Select all

nsNativeComponentLoader: SelfRegisterDll(libnkgnomevfs.so) Load FAILED with error: libgnomevfs-2.so.0: cannot open shared object file: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden
nsNativeComponentLoader: SelfRegisterDll(libnegotiateauth.so) Load FAILED with error: libgssapi_krb5.so.2: cannot open shared object file: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden
jumper@linux:~>

What's so different between Aviary and Trunk that the one requires all the Gnome stuff and the other runs without?

Yesterday's TRUNK build works fine.

Trunk build is kinda "1.0+ firefox"

So not really useful ;p

Aviary will be the base of 0.9 and 1.0 builds. So this is why they're different ;p
