This problem was occured in both trunk and aviary builds since 20040618. Fortunately, trunk builds were fixed from 20040621, but aviary ones were still buggy until now. I can extract them manually; nevertheless, I don't think that is a good idea.

20040626: Patch Bug #245430, more info

Hence, I do my patch again, and 20070627 aviary build is out. Today I only do SSE2 build for testing.

There is a bug in today's build, for eg if I have 2 email accounts, double -clicking on account 2 will expand account 1's folders. This happen on the trunk and avairy builds. Not sure if anyone else is having this problem.

No new profile this time.
In your Documents and Settings/%userdir%/Applicationdata/Thunderbird/Profiles/Default/xxxxxx/ the Mail directory should be enough when you are not using extensions etc...

0.7.1 Release were up.

BTW, since 20040629, I have modified app.version of profile from 0.7+ to 0.7 in my aviary builds (0.7+) because most extensions and themes are only supported from 0.6 to 0.7 (seems 0.7.1 works fine). I think it's safe in most situation.

Here is the patch, which also adds few optimization tweaks for a 'speedy' effect.

Code: Select all

 pref("app.version",
-"0.7+"
+"0.7"
 )

Hi Pigfoot,

I am using your builds for the last two months now I think and they are great! Fast, Reliable and I like to have them static.

One thing is still not clear to me and a quick search on the forums did not give me the answer.
What is the difference between:

0.7+ Branch xxxxxxx builds (AVIARY_1_0_20040515, Thunderbird 1.0 branch)
0.6+ Trunk xxxxxx builds (HEAD, Mozilla 1.8a2 branch)
0.7.1 Release xxxxxxx builds (THUNDERBIRD_0_7_1_RELEASE)

Till now I used your 0.6+ Moz1.8a2 builds because I thought they were the most up to date.
But, I don't understand the 0.6+ number because 0.7.1 is already out and in my feeling we are doing 0.7+ now.

In my understanding the 0.7.1 is the last stable official release and your 0.7.1 Release xxxxxxx builds (THUNDERBIRD_0_7_1_RELEASE) is an unofficial build of that, including some patches. When that is true, which build (your 0.6+ or 0.7+) is the most up to date with the most last features build in (the closest to a new 1.0 build)???

Thanks,
Jan.

That is true. Mostly, I recommend you to use release builds because they are bug-free in general.

If you wanna try nightly builds which have new feature but buggy, you can download aviary builds, as known as 0.7+ branch.

The trunk builds often will be a part of mozilla suite, and these builds I made are offered to test for developers. In short, if you have no idea what it is, it's good to choice aviary builds.

BTW, 20040706 aviary builds were out. I try gcc to build aviary builds yesterday, but I found I can not use mmoy's sse/sse2 patch. Hence I returned to use MSVC 7.1 today.
