These are all Trunk Builds.
I built Mozilla Firefox from CVS with MSVC++ 2005 using some optimizations.
Optimized for Athlon XP and some newer Durons with SSE (-O2 -GA -GL -arch:SSE):
http://pryan.org/firefox/BlueFyre/Firef ... GL-SSE.zip (~9.10MB - zip)
http://pryan.org/firefox/BlueFyre/Firef ... -GL-SSE.7z (~6.30MB - 7z)
The above build will work on systems that support the SSE instruction set ONLY.
[Note] Extracting will make a folder named Firefox
checkout start: [see other forum post]
You can find a copy of these builds (and my older builds) on pryan's mirror:
http://pryan.org/firefox/BlueFyre
My .mozconfig is as follows:
- Code: Select all
. $topsrcdir/browser/config/mozconfig
ac_add_options --disable-debug ac_add_options --enable-shared ac_add_options --disable-static ac_add_options --disable-tests ac_add_options --enable-canvas ac_add_options --enable-optimize="-O2 -GA -GL -arch:SSE" ac_add_options --enable-svg
My builds have the following preference set:
pref("general.useragent.vendorComment", "BlueFyre");
I've included a copy of my .mozconfig in the build folder itself.
For more on what the optimization switches do see this link:

[Note]
- If you use these builds, please let me know how it works out for you. (performance, problems, etc)
- Only the current months builds are kept..

You have forgotten to build two files: en-mac.jar, en-unix.jar...

Whoops sorry I was away for a day... and it's prob to late to build for today...
Anyhow I didn't forget those files I deleted them, because they cause are just extra 'cuft'... Unless you can tell me otherwise why they would be needed for a windows build, then I'll edit my post install file

There are problems with storing passwords.
Sometimes FFox forgets passwords.
Also sometimes there are no floating windows of passwords on page
Sometimes there is a code of page instead of the page.
I do not insist on correction. I have found already the decision of problems.
I use files en-mac.jar, en-unix.jar from trunk-O2GL7-20040605 stipe. They have removed a problem
p.s.
With these corrections your FFox the best.
Тhank!

Hey BlueFyre
I really like your builds! I've never had any trouble with yours. Ive been checking here everyday for like the last 2 weeks waiting to see if you made a 9.0 build yet. How come you havent made one yet? Is there a problem with stablity in the lastest version or something?

I follow the 0.8 trunk which isn't really updated too much, the branch seems pretty nice with the extension manager, but I have been following the trunk builds from the start, and I don't really want to switch....
Also I think the trunk's will the be the base code for the 1.0? <-- maybe someone could clairify

hmm, reading that makes me realize that i know nothing about firefox building lol. So what your saying is that firefox 9 hasnt been trunked yet??
edit:
heck is there even a difference between 8 and 9?? Everyone seems to be going crazy over 9 but i cant really find any info if there are new features that are worth anything...

The Aviary branch is on the way to becoming 1.0
The current trunk is working toward what will come _after_ 1.0
(perhaps 1.1)
311Sam, at The Burning Edge, there is a page listing what's new in 0.9:
