I recall there were some issues which differentiated between Tasks and Events and that Tasks were not fully supported in the past. Is this still the case?
I ask because I am trying to set up a task calendar which programs jobs which need to be done on a repetitive basis, for example a regular
maintenance task like renew aquarium filter cartridge.
I need to be able to see what work is outstanding in the coming period and when it has been done for the period in view.
Can this now be done or must I improvise using events calendar?

Re: Use of Tasks in Google Calendar
Sadly I have not had any relies to this. I am using T'Bird and when I select Tasks I get the message;-
Please select a calendar that supports tasks.
I have been trying to use Google calendar and the above suggests that Google still do not support tasks. Can anybody please help me with this?

Budgie3,
I cannot help you directly because I do not use Thunderbird or Google Calendar. (I have the SeaMonkey/Lightning Calendar which is a sibling of Thunderbird).
Having said that, you might wish to try the following search using Google --- thunderbird tasks "google calendar" --- (use that exact phrasing including the quotation marks). When I did this I came up with some links that might be helpful to you, particularly these two, " https://support.mozilla.org/bm/questions/1369168 " and " https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDzAXXlYULM ". There are other links and discussions as well.

Re: Use of Tasks in Google Calendar
Hi and many thanks. Will look at those links as well as looking at other caldav server options.
My problem is that I cannot set up future repeats for repeated tasks. It seems this is not properly supported.
BTW it is almost impossible to log in to this website. First it doesn't accept https and then when forced to http I get log in errors and suggestions that I contact the website about an EOF error.

Budgie3,
Those two links seem like they should address your calendar issue.
The Log in problem is a known issue. There are many posts about this in the "MozillaZine Site Discussion" section. Due to various forum issues, DO NOT USE "https", use "http", and make sure that you check the "Keep me logged in" box.
