Announcement: Calendar/Sunbird help release

Post by Rod Whiteley »

Version 0.1 of Calendar Help is released today.

It is a first draft of end user help describing most of Calendar/Sunbird's user interface, and linked directly to user interface elements.

This version is designed to work in Sunbird and also with Calendar in Firefox, Thunderbird and Mozilla Suite on all platforms. It is in English only.

Sunbird 0.2b and Linux

Post by sjoerger »

I just followed the instructions for Sunbird and I do not get the Help dialog option. The step for installing the xpi did take almost 2 minutes to complete.

Any thoughts?

Steve.

I have never seen it do that, so I don't know what to suggest.

On the project's Installation page I'll add instructions for a manual install as a fallback.

Thanks for reporting the problem.

I've added instructions for a manual install at the bottom of:
http://calendarhelp.mozdev.org/installation.html

I also did a fresh install of Sunbird 0.2b in Mandrake, applied the two patches, then installed Calendar Help from the XPI. It worked OK, so I learned nothing helpful.

I've successfully gotten the extension working in Linux using the manual installation method. Thanks for the help.

I'm using Fedora Core 3 and Sunbird-0.2b.

If you need further testing, let me know!

Steve.
