Tasks in Calendar

Can I assign a task to someone in Calendar? I am unable to see any option for this.

Would appreciate some help.

The other person's calendar file must be on a server where you have write access to it. Then you can open the other person's calendar and create the task there.

Thank you, but what I really had in mind was the ability to delegate a task to someone at the time of creating it in a shared calendar accessed by a group of people in our non-profit.

Is this possible?

I thought it might be. Well, I have read about some work being done on adding lists of people to events So maybe that will one day be extended to tasks, allowing you to assign them.

Calendar was originally designed simply as a personal calendar. But in real life many people need it to be more like groupware. I think a lot of work will be needed to shift the basic design to some kind of groupware model.
