bold days in minimonth
What does it mean if a day is printed in bold in the minimonth (top left panel)? I thought it means, that there are calendar entries for this day, but this doesn't quite match what I see:
Notice how all Fridays and Wednesday 27th are bold, but there are no calendar entries for these days. Is this a bug, or does the bold print mean something different?
The "cal" calender is a .ics-file on my computer.
This is Lightning 1.5.1 running on Thunderbird 13.0.1.

Re: bold days in minimonth
It appears that all day events are not shown as bold dates in the mini month, but if the event is not an all day event, it does get shown as a bolded date.
That's probably a bug.

Seems it might be a deliberate decision to not show the day as "busy" for all day events. I use all day events for bill payment reminders, and would prefer the date be bolded to tell me I was supposed to be doing something.

Edit the all day event and set Options > Show Time As from "Free" to "Busy". Now you'll get the busy indication for this day in the mini-month too.

None of events are all-day events. Also note that I have _too many_ bold days, not the other way around.

Private events are treated in the same manner.
Do you possibly have a calendar not being shown that could be causing the additional bolded days?

Nope. There are no public holidays in Germany in June (which is what the "Feiertage" calendar is for) and none of my friends'/relatives' birthdays is on any of these dates (which is what the "Geburtstage" calendar is for - I didn't want to post that one on a public screenshot).

Tasks with due dates will also show the day as busy.

Thanks, that explains that. Can this behaviour be changed?

Edit the task and choose the menu path Options -> Show Time As -> Free.

Re: bold days in minimonth
Hi,
Is there a way to make EACH new event "show as busy" by default (instead of "show as free"), such that it shows up as bold in the mini-calendar view?
Thanks!
Justus

Re: bold days in minimonth
You have to set to false both these preferences with the config Editor (menu Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Config Editor...):
calendar.events.defaultTransparency.allday.transparent
calendar.events.defaultTransparency.standard.transparent
calendar.events.defaultTransparency.allday.transparent
calendar.events.defaultTransparency.standard.transparent
