Hi,
I'm quite new to Thunderbird. I just opened it last night on Linux Mint 17.2 Cinnamon 64bit and was looking for the Lightning add on. I could not find it.
I'm new to Linux as well but I shouldn't think that should be the reason I cannot find the Calendar.
Can anyone point me in the right direction, please?
Thanks for your time.

Where are you looking for that add-on? Are you using menu path Edit->Addons?

Thanks for the quick reply.DanRaisch wrote:Where are you looking for that add-on? Are you using menu path Edit->Addons?
Edit does not have any options for Addons. I went to Tools>Add-ons then from the Add-ons Manager, there are only 6 Featured Addons
1. Noia 2.0 eXtrem . . .
2.CompactHeader
3. Mail Merge
4. Enigmail
5. Mail Redirect
6. Silvermel
Then there are other stuff like, Up & Coming, Featured Themes, More ways to customize.
Last night I swore there was an AddBlocker Plus tile where the Noia 2.0 . . . now is. Do these Add-ons shift around?
I've got TB version 38.7.2

Re: Cannot find Lightning in TBird Add-ons (Linux)
Extensions seem to be listed alphabetically so adding an additional extension may shift the position of previously installed extensions.
Have you tried downloading and installing Lightning from the AMO web site? https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/

Yes. I downloaded it to my hd but has not yet installed it. I read that installing it that way causes issues with updating Lightning in Linux so I was hoping there was a way via Thunderbird itself.DanRaisch wrote:Extensions seem to be listed alphabetically so adding an additional extension may shift the position of previously installed extensions.

You're welcome but there is no automatic installation of extensions except when updating an already installed extension.

The calendar extension should be in the Linux Mint Software Manager application listed as xul-ext-lightning, and the current version of Thunderbird from Ubuntu as of 05/18 is 38.8.0.

Re: [SOLVED] Cannot find Lightning in TBird Add-ons (Linux)
Sorry, but the old problem of Lightning not keeping up with Thunderbird is here yet again.
On Linux Mint 17.3 Rosa 64-bit I have TB 38.8 and installed 1:38.8.0+build1-0ubuntu0.14.04.1, but there is no sign of Lightning calendar anywhere in TB. Looked under View, Tools, Add-ons and just about everywhere else.

Is 1:38.8.0+build1-0ubuntu0.14.04.1 the xul-ext-lightning file from the repo?
Why hasn't Ubuntu updated Thunderbird to 45.1.1 yet? I think 45.2 was just released.
