Lighting 4.7.8 Incompatrible with Thunderbird 52.0.1
I have been using Thunderbird and Lightning for many years and it is essential to my work as a consultant, however Thunderbird 52.0.1 says it is incompatible with Lightning 4.7.8 and wants to disable the calendar, as I need the Lightning functions I do not want to install TB 52.0.1 until there is a compatible version of Lightning, or at least a functioning work around.
Would welcome any advice on a solution,
Jon

Interesting. The English link is here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunde ... sion-5.4b4
It appears that is the "older versions" page.
Personally, I'm going to wait to upgrade until there's a Lightning version that works with the upgrade.

There is a Lightning version that works with the upgrade and it is installed with the upgrade.
That has been verified in testing before general release to the public.

Interesting. During the upgrade, TB gives a warning that Lightning 4.7.8 is not compatible and will be removed.
WaltS48, are you talking about TB 52? Or 52.0.1?

It should not matter whether the user updates to 52.0 or 52.0.1 from 45.8.0.Diane Vigil wrote:Interesting. During the upgrade, TB gives a warning that Lightning 4.7.8 is not compatible and will be removed.

Lightning 4.7.8 is not compatible with those versions, will be removed and replaced by the correct version of Lightning for a 52 release version.
Maybe the wording of the warning needs to be changed to "will be removed and updated."

Thanks. I'm using Lightning 4.7.8 with TB 45.8.0.
Actually, the warning during upgrade is "Some of your add-ons won't work with this update, and will be disabled. As soon as they are made compatible, Thunderbird will update and re-enable these add-ons."
Then, for me, it lists Lightning 4.7.8.

Maybe not Lightning itself, but Google Calendar is now unusable:

Re: Lighting 4.7.8 Incompatrible with Thunderbird 52.0.1
That's quite annoying at the moment. Im running Thunderbird and Lightning several years without any problems and it's brilliant!
Running TB 45.8.0 and Lightning 4.7.8 all calendar functions work properly.
Running the Thunderbird update to actually 52.1.0 also Lightning will be updated automatically to 5.4. After the Thunderbird restart Lightning is no more available (no calender tab, no tasks tab could be accessed), only the calendar settings tab is accessible.
What's going wrong here. Does anybody have an idea?
Thank you very much and best regards, yours Erek!

Calendar settings tab in Options > Calendar?
Do you have Event and Tasks in the Menu Bar or Menu Button? Does it show Calendar? Try selecting it and the Calendar tab should appear.

Walt,
thanks for your reply and sorry for my late answer:
Yes, Calendar settings tab is available in Option > Calendar.
And Yes, there are Event and Tasks in the Menu Bar or Menu Button. The crazy thing is that by selecting it nothing appears, no caleandar tab and no task tab as well. But also no error message appears - nothing. The extensions.log reports no error...
Is there any idea?
Best regards,
Erek

Re: Lighting 4.7.8 Incompatrible with Thunderbird 52.0.1
Thanks, Erek...
I have the new add on for Lightening. I downloaded it to the system already. I just can't figure out how to get it to integrate with the T-bird program.
Also, I can't attached a file of a screen shot to this post, because there is not button to add a file. I see a button for "Img", but when I click it, it just adds this:
My real problem is this, by the way, which no one has responded to: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... &t=3030608
I was just hoping that reloading Lightening add on would help/solve...
UPDATE 5/29, I believe I"ve updated Lightening.
BUT I still do not see any of the "invites" from others. They come in as emails, and I see the recipients, but none of the invite-info...not the data for the invite, etc...
Is there a way to go back to the old T-bird that where I can see the calendar invites?
